We went to this place to celebrate my mother in-law's birthday. It is in a lovely country side with picturesque views. We had a booking for 07.45 pm and we were directed to our table straight away. We were asked for our drinks and shortly after our drinks arrived our order was taken. My husband even got his second drink served. But that was more or less the whole activity for the next hour. When our order was served it was quarter to 09.00pm. My mother in-law's dessert was wrong (ice cream instead of the cream that she asked), although our coffees were good. When paying, my husband was asked if everything was OK apart from the late service with no apologies. My hake was a bit bland and the stakes my husband and his mum had were not the best cut of the animal. Although the starters look adventurous, the main courses are just ordinary pub food with not much imagination. They offer gluten free and vegetarian food but no salads neither in the starters nor as a main course. I am afraid we won't repeat our custom.
Very nice food in a very cosy environment. What more do you want? I’d also like to add that a young gentleman with black hair was a very nice waiter. He catered to my every need. I’d come back in a heartbeat 5*

Outstanding customer service today! Super friendly greeting from a young lady behind the bar. Positioned us perfectly in a dog friendly zone by an unlit fire and then proceeded to light the fire for us! We had arranged the unknown location as a simple halfway meeting point for lunch with friends and could not have been happier. Lovely place with ample nooks and crannies for either small or larger groups. Immaculate facilities and great menu and excellent food. Very spacious and easy access car park too - well worth making the effort if it’s a bit further out than you wanted it to be - no regrets, highly recommend! (Must try the Bourbon Pecan Pie - heavenly!!!)
Tuesday night nipped in for a meal, good food. Had a pint, again good. very quiet but it was midweek

The food was delicious, we went for mother's Day, and the service was perfect. A lovely meal and a perfect day out. Highly recommended! We also went for the steak night on Thursday. A decent size portion and a bottle of wine for two, £22 ! Really good value and perfectly cooked!
Lovely staff nice to have a kiddies play park outside. And on the whole it was great. But was very disappointed with the sauce I ordered with my rotisserie chicken. Described as a creamy garlic mushroom sauce. It was neither creamy or garlicky. Just like a mushroom gravy and a bit bland my daughter apparently said exactly the same thing, she was sat further down the table. The rest of the party of 10of us were perfectly happy

Brilliant family pub with lovely owners who look after it really well. Great for a meal or just for a drink and a chat. They even do hot chocolate and coffee!
Stayed here for the first time last week for one night, from the minute we walked in to the minute we walked out everything was fantastic, staff, food, rooms and cleanliness. 5 star from us and can’t wait to come back!

First class English B&B! This is everything you expect in a B&B. Excellent service and every requirement considered. Sheila is also a friendly and excellent hose.

I've visited the cafe a few times when cycling in the area. The coffee is great and there is a good cake selection. I would definitely recommend the flapjack if you need to refuel. Plenty of space round the back for bikes too.
Food was very good but not cheap. I had lemon chicken salad and my husband had lemon chicken jacket potato. Apart from mine having bread and his potato the meals were identical but his was £2 cheaper! The cakes looked amazing and would live to return and sample. Excellent coffee.
If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
